Midterm work

October 15, 2010

I had a minute to take a few pictures of some of the stuff I’ve been working on, for both my studio class and electives.

My professor suggested that I do some small, quick paintings, so I’ve been painting from some photos of home.  They’re oil on paper- I use linseed oil to thin out the paint so it can be used like watercolors, and the largest is maybe 5×6 inches.  I also have a larger painting I’m working on, but it’s still in the beginning stages.

There’s also some paintings from my painting elective- a two-hour still life, a landscape, and an artist study (Van Dyke)- and my first project from my sculpture elective (cow skull made from welded steel rods).
